Landmark East Tower Hits Docklands Market
Following the sell out in a mere seven months of the 276 unit 31 floor Landmark West Tower, project owners the Young Group are moving rapidly ahead with the next phase of the scheme in London.
The bigger of the multiple building project, the 45 storey, 140 metre tall, Landmark East Tower arranged perpendicularly to the shorter West Tower is being released to the residential market.
Designed by architects Squire and Partners in a similar vein to its shorter partner, the look features a slender glass slab block when viewed from the side that is overwhelmingly international in its aesthetic.
The East Tower will contain 386 more apartments for the market and sets a new record for Londons docklands of the most residential units in one building. The building and its neighbours sit around a landscaped plaza with ground floor retail and restaurant units on offer to both the public and residents alike.
Ideally placed for those who cannot be bothered to commute, the project sits on the western end of Marsh Wall, one of the central roads that cuts through Tower Hamlets Millennium Quarter although the project itself is not included in that master-plan.
Moving further east is the also under construction office tower of Arrowhead Quay whilst at the far eastern end of Marsh Wall stands the almost topped out Pan Peninsula Tower. Canary Wharf is literally 50 metres to the north.
Construction of the two towers is already well underway with completion in 2010 showing that there is no let up for the residential demand and bullish property developers when it comes to the area around Canary Wharf that is has given Tower Hamlets the fastest growing population of any borough in the country.
